Google Part 2

What?
We learned about how to make our own google site. This is a website that stores information that you can allow the public to view. You have control of it and control of editing it but when someone types in the URL they will be able to access and view important dates and information.

So What?
This tool can work wonders. I've already noticed how useful it is from using it in various classes this semester and last. I know exactly where to go to find the information that I'm looking for and if I forgot about an assignment or an important date I know exactly where to look. By making my own website with the different tabs I feel as though I have the ability to file all my documents and information all together online. This will take away from overdoing it on paper and helps things stay nicely organize. I also feel as though having this tool as a teacher I will be able to keep a clear schedule for myself and also have a resource for my colleagues to view when they are curious about my classroom schedule and curriculum.

As a current student I find myself getting excited everytime I discover one of these tools. My mind gets confused wiht all the jumbling of my classes. With googlesites I will be able to organize and store information about my classes and keep up to date with everything and with what I need to be doing. I can store documents here as well as another backup place for important papers and work that I do.

Now What?
As a teacher over a class I will have one of these websites readily available for the children to check often. I've noticed how beneficial this tool is to me when my teachers use it. With that in mind I know that this tool will help our my future students as well. The parents will always have access to the website to see what homework is due for their student and to check in advance what their student will be doing in class. This tool will help my students stay more organized and prevent them from having excuses about not knowing about an assignment or project. Everything we will be doing in class will be posted on this website. I'm excited to try it out and see if it can be as beneficial to my students as it has been for me in my teaching classes.
