My Ideal Classroom

In my ideal classroom there will be a different feel to every section of the room. In each section you will find a different type of art that represents each of the students in my class. You'll be able to walk into my class and know what personalities each of my students have. You'll know what variety my class has to offer. I will have the class set up into different stations and sections so if when the children have work time they know what zone they are in. When they have time to relax they will have their haven where they can go and get away from the books and mind teasers. My classroom will give you a warm feeling when you walk in. It will smell nicely, be pleasing to the eye and give you that cozy feeling of comfort. It will be a place where my students feel safe. They wont feel judged by their fellow classmates and they will feel accepted by me as a teacher.

Even though my students will be hard working and pushed to do their best, they will actively be engaged in what they are discovering. They will be excited each day to learn because they will be discovering new information. The way I will do this is by helping the students apply it to their own minds and incorporating art and active activities in with their curriculum. They wont get bored and think school is a waste of time. They will be learning so much through their hands and through their projects, they wont even realize that core curriculum is being nailed into their minds. Teachers will come to me the following years and express how they are pleased with their student's excitement they have with learning.

My students will also be up to date with technology. They will understand how to use technology when doing their homework, when interacting with friends, family or for school purposes. They will know how to get onto a computer and publish a blog or go to a website to find information. My students will enjoy acting and understand how to use technology to film themselves and their creativity. They will learn to be news anchors, detectives, judges, actors, and doctors because they have learned to use their imagination and have learned how to research and make their dreams happen.

My students will come into class with a smile each day excited to see what adventures the new days brings. I will make my classroom a safe haven that my children never feel threatened to enter. With that I will make it a place where the parents feel safe sending their children. Their wont be many problems because they parents will be pleased with their student's interaction and engagement in the classroom. They wont hear about bad things going on, they will hear of adventures and will be learning new things from their own children. If a problem does arise the parents will come to me immediately and address it in a professional manner. Problems will be solved quickly and ideas from parents will be considered. Colleagues will take ideas from my material. They will see how my children are progressing and how they are excited about it. I will get along with the other teachers on my team and we will help each other grow together.

My classroom will be a story of it's own. At the end of the year each student will be able to write a book about their experience in Miss Shepherd's class and you will find a book full of mystery, excitement, learning and mastered curriculum. The students will have direction in their lives and each student will believe in what they can do and what they as an individual each have to offer to the community and to the world. My students will love themselves and be able to help lift others through their love for life and learning!
